    Phlebotomy Course Overview

    The Phlebotomy Micro-Credential Course at Futures Canadian College provides students with a comprehensive understanding of phlebotomy techniques and procedures as they relate to patient care. This short, specialized training program is designed to equip students with practical skills and theoretical knowledge required for practicing as a phlebotomist.

    This program is for you, if: you obtained your training outside of Canada, or do not have any medical background but would want to shift to the health industry.

    Duration & Schedule

    • Course Length: 27 hours online, 12 hours in-person practical class
    • Typical Hours: Mondays – Fridays Saturdays – 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
    • Flexible Scheduling: Private weekend or weekday options available for small groups—perfect for working adults. 

    Class Size & Format

    • Small Cohorts: Max 8–12 students to ensure personalized coaching.
    • Hands-On: Extensive supervised labs for venipuncture, capillary puncture, tube coding, specimen processing, infection control, and more.

    In our Phlebotomy Course, you will:

    • Understand the responsibilities and ethical standards of a professional phlebotomy technician.

    Exam Details

    Our certificate prepares you for professional phlebotomy certification in Ontario through focused training, study resources, and hands-on practice. While the CPTG exam is taken separately at approved centers, graduates are fully equipped to  succeed.

    Note: CPTG exam fees (approx. C$210 + HST) and annual membership (C$129, with a 15% graduate discount) are not included in tuition.

    Entry Requirements

    To join the course, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Minimum Age: 18 years
    • Education: High School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
    • Experience: Have 6 months of experience with at least 20 venipunctures and 10 finger sticks (this is not a mandatory requirement as this certificate program is also for people who do not have any medical background but would want to shift to the health industry.
